This article will be interesting for researchers that study the essence of concepts of “competition” and “competitiveness”. The author has detected many interpretations of “competition” that have been divided into ideological groups. Existing main types of competition. The concept of “competitiveness” is analyzed not as a whole but divided into five integral parts: competitiveness of a country, an economy, an industry, a company, a product. The study ends by the example of the author's interpretation of the concept of “competition” and by interrelation of concepts of competitiveness of a country, an economy, an industry, a company, a product.
