Peculiarities of preliminary investigation of material traces of circulation of falsified, substandard and unregistered medicines and medical devices and circulation of falsified biologically active additives

In the article, based on the analysis of the official data of judicial statistics of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, analytical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, scientific literature and materials of law enforcement practice, the peculiarities of illegal circulation of falsified, low-quality medicines, medical devices and biologically active supplements in the territory of the country are determined, their criminalistically significant features reflected in the external environment are considered. The study made it possible to identify the nature of the formation of material traces of the crimes under study and their types. The concept and role of the preliminary study of the analyzed traces in the disclosure and investigation of crimes are determined, and its varieties are presented. Unlawful handling of falsified, substandard and unregistered medicines, medical devices and biologically active supplements, typically carried out by a group of persons both in our country and abroad, is a highly latent criminal act, a serious global problem, the solution of which is possible only with the effective fight against it by law enforcement agencies. Material traces of such crimes carry a significant amount of criminalistically significant information, and their correct preliminary study implements search and evidentiary tasks, ensuring the effectiveness of disclosure and investigation of the act.
