Resume: Treatment of arterial hypertension should begin when the first symptoms appear. Only in this case it is possible to achieve a stable remission and a significant improvement in the condition. For this purpose, effective treatment regimens for hypertension have been drawn up. If you postpone the visit to the doctor, then the disease can move to a new stage and the likelihood of complications increases. ARA are a new group of drugs that suppress RAS activity in the circulating blood and tissues. They were introduced into clinical practice about 10 years ago. Unlike ACE inhibitors, these drugs do not block the enzyme involved in the formation of AT II, but the binding of AT II itself to its type 1 receptors. The advantages of ARA over ACE inhibitors are in a more complete blockade of the action of AT II, since with the blockade of AT1 receptors, the formed AT II cannot have its pathological effect on target organs, regardless of which enzyme it was formed by: whether due to the activity of ACE, or chymase, or cathepsin G, tonin, or any other (may not yet be known) enzyme. When AT1 receptors are blocked, AT II accumulates excessively, as a result of which it begins to exert an effect on AT2 receptors, the stimulation of which leads to vasodilating and antiatherogenic effects.
