For some time now the new rocket and space hardware products require building sealed enclosures for electronic devices that have significant dimensions and unconventional geometric shape (with radius corners). The process of sealing such enclosures by pulsed laser welding is characterized by a number of difficulties and peculiarities. This paper discusses requirements set for the devices used in rocket and space hardware, issues that occur in the course of solving the manufacturing problems of sealing the enclosures of electronic devices, options for solving this manufacturing problem. The paper discusses the options of possible use of structural materials for the enclosures of electronic devices in space industry, including sandwich-type composite materials. It discusses some peculiar features of the existing and proposed processes for sealing the devices, and lists the advantages and disadvantages of various implementation options for the laser sealing process. It provides the rational for selecting the most streamlined method for sealing devices with unconventional geometry, which implements the mechanism of orbital rotation of the laser beam.
