The statutory documents regulating certification in the scientific library are considered: the Procedure for Certification of Employees developed by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, on the basis of which libraries should develop their own local laws and regulations. A comparative analysis of these documents has been carried out. The conduct of certification in the CSAL is considered as an example.
