Introduction. Features of conducting a public operational-search measure - inspection of premises, buildings, structures, terrain and vehicles, the results of which are used to achieve the goals of law enforcement agencies in terms of exposing and bringing to justice pe rsons plotting, preparing, committing and having committed crimes. Materials and Methods. Collection, analysis, processing of theoretical and empirical material were carried out on the laws of dialectical materialism using the methods of scientific knowledge and empirical research, such as analysis, generalization, systematization, description. The Results of the Study. As results of the study, the authors draw conclusions about the role in the formation of the mechanism for conducting a public operational-search measure - inspection of premises, buildings, structures, terrain and vehicles. The results of the study can be used in conducting operational-search measures, as well as conducting a comparative analysis of national mechanisms in this area. Findings and Conclusions. Discussion of issues within the framework of conducting operational investigative measures is a complex multifaceted, multi-stage action and requires significant efforts from the operational officer to select the necessary forces, means, determine specific goals and methods for achieving them. High-quality, timely implementation of operational investigative measures can be ensured by careful elaboration of all its elements, at each stage.
