Features of conducting an audit on reports of illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs

For a long time in Russia there has been an acute problem of drug addiction of society, including the younger generation, which negatively affects the health of not only individual citizens, but also the nation as a whole. In this article the author focuses on the peculiarities of drug proceeding, when proceeding by criminal complaint about illegal acquisition and possession of drugs, and pays attention to a certain sequence of verification activities. Procedural and tactical aspects of the necessary verification activities carried out on a report of a crime related to illicit drug trafficking are also considered. An analysis of the current judicial and investigative practice and the problematic issues arising in the process of verification at the stage of initiation of a criminal case is carried out. The author gives recommendations on the type and tactics of verification activities in various situations arising in the detection of this type of crime.
