The article describes the content and structural features of the pre-profile elective course School theme in modern literature. The choice of texts is explained by the psychological characteristics of adolescents and the need in an early profilisation of education in the modern educational process. The guidelines for the elective course are based on the use of active forms of learning and innovative educational technologies.
