Peculiarities of the development of the machine-building industry

In this article the author talks about the importance of the machine-building industry for the economy of the country, gives a description of the main elements of machine-building products. The article presents a scheme of quality assurance of machine-building products, which demonstrates how the manufacturer contacts the consumer through the market of machine-building products and has feedback without intermediaries. The author considers in detail the distinctive features of machine-building products from all other types of products, demonstrates the change in price dynamics for higher quality products. The article considers the application of the law of Gossen: «the utility of a set of benefits is maximum when consuming them in an amount that ensures equal marginal utility of all consumed benefits» for machine-building products. The principle of consumer behavior with respect to mechanical engineering products has its own specificity, as the demand for these products is limited by the «necessary need», by which we mean the minimum demand, the satisfaction of which ensures the maximum utility during this period. Further deliveries of machine-building products will increase reserves and will not lead to product growth in processing industries. Product utility is the basis of consumer choice that is interested in maximizing the total amount of utility it receives.
