Features of foreign direct investment in Russia

The paper describes features of Russia as a recipient of foreign capital in the form of direct investment at the present stage. In the post-crisis period, despite the dynamic growth the foreign direct investment does not fulfill the role of enhancement factor for Russia’s development. Most of the FDI inflows are funded with offshore capital and sent to the extractive industries, wholesale and retail trade. The authors emphasize institutional problems of Russia which affect the country's investment position.
