He article deals with the features of religious identity in Crimea. It is emphasized, that the frontier position of the region leads to the complex conglomerate of identities. The authors consider the correlation of ethnic and religious processes. The religious identity serves as a major threat to the national security in a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society.
