Self-esteem of middle-aged women of different social status

The objective of the article is to consider family relations, marital status and their impact on personal characteristics of men and women from the point of view of psychology. The article makes special reference of personal characteristics of middle-aged women of different social status and their self-esteem in particular. The authors carried out theoretical (analysis of lit-erature) and empirical (testing) studies of personality characteristics of middle-aged women of different social status, analyzed the impact of social status on personal characteristics of women. The authors came to the conclu-sion that social status as an integral indicator connects several elements and features, it reflects legal status of social groups, women in particular, of its representatives in society, position in the system of social ties and relations.
