Agricultural labor of Bulgarian immigrants in Kuban region in the late 18th - early 20th centuries

The study attempts to trace the adaptation of Bulgarian immigrants to the agricultural environment in Kuban region. The research investigates the impact of the Bulgarians on local people, assesses the involvement of Bulgarian immigrants in the economic life of the region. The paper is based on the pivotal pre-revolutionary studies, modern regional works, and archives. The analysis shows that the Bulgarians have made a significant contribution to the agricultural development in Kuban region, primarily in the gardening industry. The Bulgarians took novel approaches to irrigating and greenhouse farming. The hard work and creativity of the Bulgarian people helped them establish a friendship with the local population. The relevance of the research is determined by the great value of the South Slavs engagement with other people. A study on their experience in this regard can strengthen and develop multilateral relations between the South Slavs and the Bulgarians.
