The purpose of this article is to develop a psychological platform for systematization of specific patterns of development of children with speech dysontogenesis. An attempt is made from the standpoint of special psychology to substantiate the specifics of the formation of semantic perception of speech in children with general underdevelopment of speech as the most important means of learning (receiving, processing and storing information). The study shows the main difficulties of cognitive and linguistic support of intra-system connections during the understanding of lexical units of the language. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the study of these difficulties determines the creation of special conditions, as well as the choice of special educational strategies in teaching children with speech development disorders, taking into account their special educational needs.
