The processes occurring in the global economy that led to systemic economic crises that occur quite regularly and are becoming increasingly large-scale. Among other things, economic crises lead to significant changes in the structure of the global economy. The 2009-2010 crisis caused a critical attitude towards global currencies, which are the financial basis of the current economic system and world trade. These changes in the world trade system led to a revision of trade relations between countries regarding the supply of products to trading platforms. Significant changes have occurred among the main producers of goods and services for consumers around the world. In these conditions, Russia has an additional chance to enter the group of countries that are nodal points of world trade. For the regions included in the Far Eastern Federal District, this chance is of particular importance due to their proximity to the centers where the countries are the main suppliers of products to world markets. Under these conditions, the industry structure in these regions should undergo significant changes in the direction of transport services and industries with a high share of added value. To achieve these goals, public administration at the federal level and the constituent entities of the federation must use the entire set of tools and methods to ensure the achievement of the set goals at the federal and regional levels of governance. The paper examines the socio-economic processes occurring in the constituent entities of the federation that are part of the Far Eastern Federal District and the set of tools for state regulation of regional development.
