Features of social perception in adolescence

Introduction: The relevance of the study due to the importance of understanding of the perceptual processes specificity in adolescence, which largely determine the perception and understanding of others, the effectiveness of the communication process, relationships and ways of implementation of joint activities. The purpose of the article - to explore the features of social perception of adolescents through the study of its main components: empathy, social reflection and causal attribution. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted with the help of psycho-diagnostic complex, which includes the following methods: test "empathic abilities" of Vladimir Boiko, "Methods for diagnostics of level of reflexivity" questionnaire of A. V. Karpov", "Methods of studying the reactions of frustration" of S. Rosenzweig, A. A. Bodalev`s method. Results: The main results are to identify the features of social perception of ninth-grade students of the city of Krasnoyarsk. The sample totaled 133 schoolchildren aged 15-16. Three collective images of adolescents were identified, based on the characteristics of their social perception. The most numerous group is characterized by the average level of empathy and reflexivity and the type of causal attribution "with the fixation on self-defense." The second, smaller group of adolescents is diagnosed with an undervalued level of empathy, low level of reflexivity and the type of causal attribution "with the fixation on the needs." The third, the smallest group of teenagers is characterized by a very high level of empathy, a high level of reflexivity and the type of causal attribution "with the fixation on an obstacle". Conclusions: The results showed that the colors of hair, eyes and body are in the eyes of most teens are the most important distinctive features of human appearance. In conclusion, it is stated that there are problems of formation of students' empathy and reflexivity, as a critical component of ensuring the effectiveness of interpersonal communication in the process of socialization and personal development, which requires the development of tools, techniques, technologies and practices that promote social perception.
