The author analyses compelling issues related to building the content part of the new Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Professional Education in Tourism. The article highlights the role and meaning of tourist professional education in the current environment of the development of the professional training world system which is based on greater flexibility of the educational and training programmes and on the students mobility.
