Peculiarities of somatic type of highly qualified track-and-field women athletes specializing in heptathlon

The article reveals the distribution of women athletes practicing heptathlon according to their somatic types. Athletes' performances at the main competitions such as World Championship, European Championship and Olympic Games taking place in the period from 2008 to 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. The investigation results showed that the most part of individual records set up by athletes and the best results took place in the group of women athletes with the mesosomic body type.
