Features of suicidal attempts in young patients admitted to the somatopsychiatric department of the I.I. Dzhanelidze Research Institute of Emergency Medicine

30 people were examined after committing a suicide attempt. There were 21 women and 9 men among the subjects. The average age was 21.5±4.0 years. 80% had previously been diagnosed with a mental disorder. 56% have the first, 17% have the second, and 27% have the third or more torture. Only 13% clearly identified interpersonal conflicts as the leading cause of suicide. 20% denied a suicide attempt or could not explain the reason for the incident. 57% used an overdose of psychotropic drugs, 10% combined their use with other forms of self-harm. 90% of suicides received prescription medications from a psychiatrist, while others ordered them on illegal Internet sites. 23% tried to injure their forearm veins.
