The COPD and pulmonary tuberculosis are important causes of broncho-pulmonary morbidity and mortality. They have similar risk factors, such as smoking, low socioeconomic status and impaired immune defenses. Tuberculosis can be a risk factor for the development, exacerbation and progression of the COPD, and the COPD, being a co-morbid disease, can alter the typical course of tuberculosis, which makes it difficult to diagnose and treat it. The purpose of this work was to study the clinical and epidemiological features of the course of tuberculosis in patients with the COPD. A screening for the presence of a concomitant the COPD disease was conducted, the structure of the incidence among patients with newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis and registered at the dispensary survey was determined, the age and sex composition and effectiveness of anti-tuberculosis therapy in patients with broncho-obstructive pathology were evaluated.
