Features of management of competitiveness of the region with special status

The article is devoted to the features of managing the competitiveness of regions with a special status. In the face of external political challenges and the economic crisis observed in the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, one of the main reserves of economic growth is to increase the competitiveness of regions with a special status. The problems of improving the competitiveness of the region are most significant, since the positive dynamics of regional development contributes to accelerated economic growth, the rational and effective use of the economic potential of the region, and the improvement of the population’s welfare. The definition of “special status” is disclosed. A comparative analysis of the economic categories “regional competitiveness”, “regional competitiveness management” is presented. The author’s definition of “regional competitiveness management” is given as the ability of effective realization and increasing of the existing economic potential and competitive advantages in a competitive environment to ensure the sustainable development of the region, improvement of the living standards, achievement of the investment attractiveness in economic rivalry with other regions...
