Osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial progressive disease of the joints, caused by an imbalance between the processes of synthesis and destruction of cartilage tissue, leading to the destruction of hyaline cartilage, the restructuring of the adjacent bone surfaces, articular bags and periarticular muscles. Chondroprotectors are proposed as structural-modifying drugs for the treatment of osteoarthritis. The drug Alflutop (Biotehnos, Romania) is an original standardized sterile extract from four types of marine fish. Composition Alflutop similar to the matrix of hyaline cartilage composed of sulfated glycosaminoglycans (GAG) (chondroitin-4-sulfate, chondroitin-6-sulfate, dermatan sulfate, keratan sulfate), low molecular weight polypeptides (less than 50,000 daltons), free amino acids and trace elements (Na, K , Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn), which are of great importance not only for metabolic processes in articular cartilage, but also for connective tissue. Alflutop has a more pronounced therapeutic effect after a 5-day intra-articular injection of 2...
