Peculiarities of human rights protection through implementation of the ombudsmen competencies in the Russian regions

This article is focused to the basics of legal regulation of human rights protection mechanisms by Commissioner for human rights (regional Ombudsmen). In addition, the legislation of the Russian Federation regions, regulating the interaction of the Com- missioners with the public authorities and local self-government in the implementation of human rights functions is analyzed.
