Features of the horror genre on the example of the novella by N. V. Gogol "May night, or the drowned woman"

This article deals with the peculiarities of the horror genre. As an example is presented the novella by N.V. Gogol "May Night, or the Drowned Woman". The author points out the categories inherent in the literature of the genre under study and compares them to similar features in the work.
