Special economic zones of the Russian Federation: results of activities and development prospects

The article is devoted to the issues of creation and functioning of territories of free economic status – special economic zones (SEZ), which have certain tax and customs benefits and support of federal and local government bodies. The article analyzes the main indicators of SEZ development based on data from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, and identifies the results achieved from 2012 to 2023. Based on the analysis for this period, it was established that the number of SEZ residents increased by 3.6 times, revenue increased by 25.6 times, and the efficiency of these regions also increased. The article highlights the SEZs that have the highest investment attractiveness: PPT “Alabuga” Republic of Tatarstan, PPT “Lipetsk” Lipetsk region, PSEZ “Ulyanovsk” Ulyanovsk region, PPT “Stupino Kvadrat” Moscow region, PPT “Moglino” Pskov region, PPT “Tolyatti” Samara region, PPT “Uzlovaya” Tula region.
