The awareness of the social past by the students

The article provides theoretical and empirical definition of historical consciousness, characterizes the division of the object in the process of the development into past, present and future in the consciousness of individual. The author examines the relationship of students to the past of our country, and studies the students' attitude to the October revolution, the Civil War as an indicator of the maturity of historical consciousness. He also shows channels of getting information on these historical events, and interpretation of their role and content by the students in connection with the 100-year anniversary of Russian revolution. The article gives a typology of historical consciousness of students.
