Church fathers about forms of government

The article considers the relation of Church Fathers to different forms of government. Special attention is paid to monarchy and democracy. In the context of patristic anthropology critical view of people and democracy is natural as after the Fall a man having become old acts under the influence of sinful passions, that is why it is dangerous to trust him. Unlike democracy monarchy is considered by the Church fathers to be a form of power, given by God, if it is morally-good and contributes to the redemption of people and demolition of a sin influencing an old man.
