Russian historiographers of the late XIX - early XX century about the origin time of the spiritual education in the Russian empire

The article deals with the debatable in the national historiography of the turn of the XX century problem concerning the origin time of the spiritual education in Russia. Analyzing and comparing opinions of the Russian historiographers, the author discusses the prerequisites of the emergence of religious educational institutions, and tries to determine the time of their origin.
