Refusal of vaccination: qualitative analysis of biographical interviews

The article reviews the results of the research concerning with the socio-psychological factors of the decision to refuse the vaccination. The research was carried out on the basis of a series of semi-structured biographical interviews with persons who refuse vaccinations. The authors conclude that one of the central factors of the refusal of vaccination is an unfavorable balance of perceived benefits and barriers (risks) of the vaccination.
