The attitude to property in the monastic tradition of the West and East in the Middle ages

The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of the relations of monastic of the two branches of Christianity, Catholicism and Orthodoxy, to the problem of ownership, and to the surrounding world. The study covers the period of 12-15th centuries. The article deals with the history of formation of ideological views in medieval Europe through the prism of Christianity, touching the vision attitude to nature, history and communications of human generations. In article, there is a detailed study of the Christian concepts like poorness and “holy poverty” and the story of their understanding and approach to them in the two Churches - Eastern and Western. There is an investigation of the attitude to the property and ideology of the various monastic orders (Dominicans, Franciscans, Benedictine etc.). In the Western Church and the attitude to the property and ideology in the Eastern Church is from the point of view of the various teachings and schools, in which the teaching is hesychasm, which arose in the 4th century in Egypt is dominant.
