Regarding of regional audience to news media

The article presents the results of a sociological survey on the study of the relationship of the audience to the regional news media. Identified goal referring to the news media, determining the level of trust in the news media, the social role of the news, as well as their degree of objectivity. Factors determining the attitude to the news media are age, income and education of respondents. The study also revealed similarity ratings of news media at the regional and nationwide audiences. It is caused by common socio-cultural processes and development trends in the media sphere in contemporary Russian society.
