The automatic spacecraft of the Earth remote sensing was designed and experimentally fine-tuned in RSC Energia. The spacecraft was launched successfully on the 16th of April in 2014. In terms of strength the automatic satellite is a complex mechanical system. The abundance of instruments, units, antennas, power sources, optic-mechanical elements and the other onboard equipment makes this system sensitive to dynamic loads. This article shows the information about the full cycle of the solving of engineering problems which are connected with the ensuring of an item’s strength. Finite element model of a construction plays the leading role in the process of solving of these issues. The process of making of this model, its structure and dimension as well as necessary resources of computing machinery are shown. The specific design features of the hardware and their representation in finite-element model are marked. All operations were conducted in the CAE system ANSYS. Operations with model during the processes of calculation and experimental testing are reflected. The results of the test are presented. The damage and its causes was described as well as repair changes were indicated. The comparative results of calculation and measurement in process of the test were presented. The ways of the correction and adjustment to models on result of the were given.
