The article examines the industry as a category, as an element of the national economy and an object of industrial strategizing. At the same time, it is proposed to consider the industry not as a separate one, but as a vertically and horizontally interconnected element in the general economic system, the functioning and development of which considers a wide range of interests and contributes to the development of related elements of the system, which should have a stimulating positive impact on the national economy.
