The article adjusts an economic concept of a cluster. It considers features of the cluster as a form of integration of the conjugated socioeconomic institutions, related by territorial proximity and functional dependence, and aimed at competitive growth, improvement of the industries’ competitiveness and optimization of the regional development. The authors describe some variants of the branch clusters classification and discuss content and matter of the branch clustering in the regions.
