Sectoral structure of employment: methodology and research directions

The topic of the article is the analysis of the structure of the economy through employment statistics, the use of theories of post-industrial society, digital society, etc. The author’s developed methodology for analyzing positive and negative structural changes in employment “Index of quality of structural shifts (ICS)” is demonstrated. The methodology is open-ended, it is easily reproducible, and the results of calculations are verifiable and verifiable. The history of structural changes in the Russian economy since 1975 is shown. by 2020, the impact of crises and stable development on the intensity and quality of structural processes in employment. The practical significance of the work is that the proposed methods should be used not only for episodic employment studies, but also for annual monitoring of the structure of the economy of the Russian Federation.
