The normal monochromatic reflectivity was measured of carbon fabrics and carbon composites based on graphite powder in the wavelength range 364-927 nm. The reflectivity of carbon composites based on powder and fabrics is identical. It is determined by the reflectivity of a carbon matrix (depending on the microstructure and the surface relief). The reflectivity of composites with graphite powder and polymeric matrix depends on both components of a material. The small reflectivity of carbon fabrics can be explained by the characteristics of bundling and is independent of the elementary fiber diameter practically.
