Reflection of the popular unrest of Ancient Russia in chronicles and folklore

The article raises the problem of popular unrest of the old Russian state in the period from X to XIII centuries. This topic is widely covered in Soviet historiography, but only from the standpoint of Marxist-Leninist ideology. However, it should be noted that the topic of popular discontent is much broader than just production relations, it is directly related to the consciousness of the people. The relevance of this work is explained by its importance for the study of socio-political processes in the history of Ancient Russia. The study of chronicle sources and sources of folk art in a single block will allow to consider more deeply the causes of popular uprisings, to understand the worldview of man of the past centuries, his motivation.
