It is found out that the gas flow rate increase leads to an increase in the current discharge field. This reduces the total energy input into the development of the discharge, which indicates a decrease in the critical stress' level supporting the same currents (U*, U tl, U spark). The realization of a glow discharge at atmospheric pressure is possible by using ballast resistance.
