Responsible investment in Russia: current problems and prospects of using ESG tools

In the current unstable economic and geopolitical situation in the world, the issues of increasing the investment attractiveness of domestic business from foreign investors are of particular importance. At the moment, one of the most effective directions for the development of the country’s investment potential is the implementation of the ESG policy. The article is devoted to the study of the role of ESG tools in the development of responsible investment, as the main direction of modern ESG policy. The article analyzes the current state of both the global and domestic sustainable investment market. Based on the analysis of the regulatory framework, statistical data, and research results of expert organizations, an assessment of the prospects for the development of sustainable investment in the Russian Federation is given. The role and importance of the main instruments of responsible investment are determined. The results can be used in shaping the strategic directions of the company’s development in the field of sustainable investment.
