The decline of power of the autocracy in Russia and the events of the end of February, beginning of March 1917 in Irkutsk

The paper deals with the events that occurred in Irkutsk in February-March 1917, when as a result of the removal from power of the autocracy to the leadership of the province came the representatives of social democratic parties and liberal society. The events of this period in Russia marked the beginning of the destabilization of the socio-economic situation, the further revolutionary events of October 1917 and the civil war. The problems of removal of the old and formation of new authorities in the Irkutsk province, the attitude to the change of power of different strata of the Irkutsk population are revealed.
