This article explores the life and creative legacy of Rear Admiral V.A. Dygalo. It presents key events from various periods, beginning with his entry into a special naval school, after which his life was linked to the sea until his death. During the Great Patriotic War, he participated in the defense of the Caucasus. After the war, he served in the submarine fleet, commanding a submarine. He participated in the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945. After completing his military service, he pursued a career in science and worked at various research institutions, including the Heritage Institute. Particular attention is given to the publication of his last book, «The Ural Dragon,» which he left unfinished during his lifetime.
