Natural monuments of regional significance on the territory of the Penza region

The paper provides a brief historical background on the development of a network of natural monuments of regional significance in the Penza region from the end of the nineteenth century to 2022, as well as an overview of literary sources that provide information about the flora and vegetation of these protected areas. An annotated list is provided, including all 83 objects that have the official status of natural monuments of regional significance. The following information is given about each natural monument: the normative act according to which it was created, the area, geographical location, brief information about vegetation and flora, primarily about rare species included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation (2008) and the Red Book of the Penza Region (2013).
