Party-state management of construction of the big Stavropol channel per 1966-1975

In article on basis of the published and archival documents, research literature activity of party-state bodies on development of land improvement of agriculture in USSR within 8-th and 9-th five-year periods is considered. In article decisions March 1965 and May 1966 of Plenums of Central Committee of CPSU, instruction and decision ХХIII of Congress, Ministerial council of USSR, developed bases of meliorative policy provided substantial growth of areas of irrigated and drained grounds, put specific targets are studied. Author considers history of land improvement in Stavropol Territory within 8-th and 9-th five-year periods, party-state management of realization of program of land improvement during a life is shined. In article history of construction of Big Stavropol channel - one of largest objects of meliorative construction in South of Russia within 1966-1975 is in detail stated. Its construction has allowed expanding considerably areas for crop of various agricultural crops in Stavropol Territory. Author special attention has turned for a role of socialist competition, introduction new labour initiatives, ideologically-educational work in labour collectives, innovative methods of works at construction of Big Stavropol channel. In article forms of moral and material encouragement, applied in collectives of builders of channel, are shown. Tasks in view at construction of Big Stavropol channel have been observed in full in planned terms and with expected effect. By author it is drawn a conclusion on positive economic and social consequences of realization in practice of program of land improvement, that promoted further rise of an agriculture of Stavropol Territory.
