Pathogenesis of pot-plants imported from abroad into Lithuania

Flowering pot-plants and cut plants imported from abroad (mainly from the Netherlands) markedly filled up the assortment of decorative plants of Lithuania. Plants grown up under perfect conditions often adapt badly physiological injuries weaken plants. They become irresistant to pathogenic microorganisms. Diseases and pests found in 1997-2002 are described in the article. The state of 488 plant taxons was observed and it was found 129 plant taxons with several of injuries and damages. The degree of injuries and intensity were determined. Just imported plants do not have diseases on injury symptoms. When plants grown under unfavourable conditions (in stores, shops), the symptoms of non-infections and infections diseases shows up after 2-4 weeks. From diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms the most dangerous and widely spread are rot and wilt. Several of flecked diminish plant decorativeness but mostly they are not so dangerous.
