The pathogenic role of the pellicle in the formation of dental plaque

The article describes the main characteristics of the surface formations of the tooth: the functions and mechanisms of the formation of constituent elements are indicated. The process of plaque pathogenesis and the stages of its formation are described. The characteristic of the conditions for the formation of plaque of different colors and consistencies is given. The role of the pellicle in the pathogenesis of superficial dental formations, including plaque, as a complex multicomponent biotope, on the tooth surface is revealed.
