The taxis of the patriarchal liturgy in the XVIIth century

The ancient Russian Archieraticon is available only in manuscript form and is a bibli-ographical rarity. This was observed as early as the 19th century by A. Dmitriyevsky,Professor of Kiev Theological Academy. The Archieratica of the pre-reformed an-cient Russian tradition can be grouped into two categories. On the one hand, wefind manuscripts containing the order of the Liturgy as served by a priest, whichwere used by bishops or, at least, belonged to bishops. On the other hand, we findmanuscripts with detailed descriptions of the peculiarities of a hierarchical service.Such manuscripts are of great value, and in this article, the author studies one suchArchieraticon.
