Transfer of electronic exitations in up-conversion nanoparticles containing rare-earth ions

In this work the luminescent properties of Yb 3+ and Er 3+ doped fluoride nanopowders were investigated. Upconversion luminescence spectra of Er 3+ ions in visible region under 974 nm excitation (absorption band of ions Yb 3+) were experimentally obtained. Regularities of up-conversion luminescence of NaYF4: Yb 3+ -Er 3+ nanoparticles depending on ratio of rare earth ions concentrations were established. In future we are going to use the investigated nanoparticles for ontological diseases diagnosis.
