The paper deals with the formation and development of the digital economy of Russia. The main difficulties of the transition of the Russian business to the digital economy are highlighted. Despite the existence of obstacles to the digitalization of Russian business, they can be overcome by using the solutions proposed above. Particular attention should be paid to improving the «digital integrity» of Russian entrepreneurs, as well as creating a regulatory framework that meets the conditions of the digital economy. The central idea in the digitalization of business is the value of information from the consumer. It is also planned to legislate relatively non-new phenomena in the Russian business, such as crowdfunding activities and the activities of business angels. Studies on the level of readiness for the transition to the digital economy are also conducted in Russia. Agency NAFI (an agency engaged in marketing research) conducted a study called «Digital Economy and Russian Companies. The level of use and readiness for the transition to digital technology». The goal of the project is to assess the readiness of Russian companies for the digital economy.
