Boundary layer intermittency in elevated free stream turbulence

The results of experiments of verification of the recently proposed Ustinov statistical model of laminar turbulent transition in a boundary layer subjected to elevated free stream turbulence are given. It turns out that not all the assumptions in this theory are completely justified. However, the most important proposition of the threshold character of turbulent spots generation after streamwise streaks reached a certain amplitude is confirmed.
