Characteristics of the thermal influence layer close to the wall of a through channels in myocardium made by the laser radiation and high-frequency capacitive discharge were determined. High- frequency discharge permits to form cylindrical channels of definite diameter in myocardium without intensive deterioration of the treated tissue and assures to form the thermal influence layer of definite thickness. The channel formation velocity is proportional to the discharge power and value of pressure force applied for the needle. Characteristic velocity of the tissue breakdown front movement was equal to 1 - 2 mm/s.
